Marshall Public Schools is currently seeking a Cross Categorical Teacher to serve students in grades 3rd - 6th grade. The Marshall Elementary School serves students in grade 3 through 6, specializing in providing excellence in education to Marshalls elementary learners. The school is home to over 250 students and 40 staff members.
The successful applicant must demonstrate successful experience working to provide an equitable education to diverse learners by: implementing differentiated instruction and effective teaching and behavioral strategies; assessing and evaluating students who have or may need IEP's; developing positive relationships between home and school; work with diverse family structures; and collaborating with a team to best meet the needs of all students. The ideal candidate must also demonstrate a willingness to grow professionally. Experience with special education assessments; Continuous Improvement through systems change, and work well on a PLC is desirable. Essential Job Functions:
Direct Support and Intervention - Support student daily functional routines and encourage independence. Teach social, communication, self-regulation, academic, and functional skills. Monitor and assess effectiveness by samples of work, rating scales, and other data collection. Provide specially designed instruction to meet the IEP of each student.
Planning and Indirect Support - Supervise special education services by collecting data for each student and assessing the ongoing needs of each student. Collect and analyze data. Prepare assessments based on the data. Communicate findings with classroom teachers. Prepare lesson plans and materials for classrooms.
Manage Behavior - Manage behavior of special education students to provide a safe environment for all students.
Team Meetings - Conduct meetings to promote communication and student learning. Plan, review materials, prepare agendas, and conduct follow-ups as needed.
Communication and Training - Consult with classroom teachers and service providers to promote student success through collaboration and coordination.
Interaction with Supporting Agencies - Support the creation of interagency teams to create smooth transitions for students with IEPs and to increase positive post-school outcomes for students.
