The Mellen School District is seeking an enthusiastic Special Education Director to join our staff of 30 dedicated PreK-12 professionals. The Special Education Director is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the District's Special Education program. The Special Education Director plans, implements, and supervises Special Education mild/moderate and severely handicapped educational programs and all related student support services. The district offers competitive salaries, along with WRS retirement with district match. A multi-year mentoring program is provided for all new hires as well as collaboration within our Professional Learning Communities program. Professional Development is provided both onsite and through our local CESA. Candidates must hold an appropriate DPI license for Special Education Director. The successful candidate will help to design developmentally appropriate learning experiences, have strong collaboration skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities, data-driven intervention strategies, and strong interpersonal skills.
