    Job Description

    Dover-Sherborn Public Schools is seeking a collaborative and student-centered Special Education Educator to join the Connections Program at Chickering Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Details Application Deadline: Open until filled Posted: August 26, 2026 Starting Date: August 31, 2026 About the Connections Program. The Connections Program is a multi-grade-level special education program focused on increasing student independence across academic, social, behavioral, and functional areas. Students typically require significant curricular modifications and individualized instruction. The program emphasizes skill development, behavioral regulation, and meaningful opportunities for inclusion with same-age peers and participation in the broader school community. Responsibilities: Provide individualized and small-group instruction across academic, social, behavioral, and functional areas. Serve as case manager, including writing IEPs, monitoring progress, and leading Annual Review and IEP Team meetings. Conduct and interpret assessments, including VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R, and use data to inform instruction and goals. Implement evidence-based ABA strategies, including Discrete Trial Training (DTT). Provide accommodations, modifications, and supports to promote inclusion and access to the general education curriculum. Collaborate with families, educators, related service providers, BCBA staff, and paraprofessionals. Support student independence, communication, social skills, and behavioral regulation. Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Participate in team meetings, professional learning, and collaborative problem-solving. Qualifications: Master''s degree in Special Education or related field. Massachusetts Moderate/Severe Disabilities licensure. Experience providing individualized instruction to students with disabilities. Experience writing and implementing IEPs and monitoring student progress. Experience administering and interpreting educational and diagnostic assessments. Experience with VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R preferred. Experience with ABA methodologies, including DTT, preferred. Knowledge of inclusive education and effective accommodations/modifications. Strong collaboration, communication, and family engagement skills. Wilson Reading System or Orton Gillingham certification/training preferred.
