Primary Purpose:
Provide specialized instructional support within general education classrooms to students with disabilities, ensuring access to the general curriculum and promoting academic, behavioral, and social success. Collaborate with general education teachers to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and foster an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement (EC6 or EC12)
ESL certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)?
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Competence in using data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
Experience:
Experience in inclusive classroom settings preferred
Familiarity with co-teaching models and differentiated instruction?
