Job Summary

Under the general direction of the assigned administrator or certificated staff member, the Instructional Assistant II performs a variety of activities in support of instructional programs for students who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbance, and/or a related disorder; assist teachers and staff in the development and implementation of programs and materials to enhance students learning experiences. Prepares appropriate materials; supports students in general and special education settings; collects daily progress data when needed and consults with staff on a regular basis.

Requirements / Qualifications

Possess a High School diploma or GED certificate, and Complete 48 semester units though an accredited college or university, or Possess an AA degree or higher, or Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and math, as certified by passing score on an exam issued by a designated agency Advanced training in areas of behavior management, autism, and emotional disturbance, or similar First Aid and CPR certificate
