Position: Teacher - EAP (Early Autism Program)

Pay: Varies per session based on service provided and insurance reimbursement rate. $28.05-$57.12/session, sessions 30 minutes long. $25/hour base rate for internal training, meetings, etc.

Location: Amherst, NY

Schedule: Full time, part-time, or per diem

Your Impact as an Early Autism Program Teacher

The Teacher EAP will teach students between the ages of two and five individually in the student's home and/or community-based setting (daycare, preschool, etc.)

.Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions for children, adolescents and their families with ADHD, autism, disruptive behavior disorders and other mental health or child development concerns.

  • Assure that IFSP/IEP mandates are fulfilled
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities
  • Coordinate development of reports and recommendations
  • Establish and monitor individual casebooks, data collection and charting systems
  • Collaborate with related service providers, center-based staff, consultants and supervisors, as necessary
  • Conduct educational activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
  • Assure appropriate communication with parents/caregivers, including encouragement of parent participation in instructional sessions
  • Assure that all required paperwork is completed

  • Adheres to the Summit Center employment policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook including, but not limited to dress code, attendance and punctuality, and Paid Time Off
  • Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in special education from an accredited four-year college or university

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Etc.:

  • New York State Certification as a Special Education Teacher Birth-2
