Special Education Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill in as a Leave Replacement for a Special Education Resource and In-Class Support Teacher at Cinnaminson Middle School. This is a temporary position that will require the candidate to work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for working with students with special needs. This leave will begin on or about August 31, 2026, with an anticipated end on December 1, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group instruction to students with special needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other special education staff to ensure students receive appropriate support
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Attend IEP meetings and other meetings related to student progress and services
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and trends in special education

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with students with special needs
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
