Seeking applicants for an exciting opportunity! The Randolph Public Schools has been approved as one of the first RTAP district''s in Massachusetts. Successful candidates will work full-time as a Special Education Paraprofessional while also completing a two-year, tuition free educator licensure program at Stonehill College.
Positions are scheduled to be at the PK-12 levels throughout the district.
RTAP Program Information Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Programs (RTAPs) offer a new pathway to earn an Initial Teacher license in Massachusetts. RTAPs integrate on-the-job training with academic coursework, allowing participants to earn while they learn. This hands-on approach ensures that apprentices gain practical classroom experience under the supervision of experienced educators while simultaneously completing the requirements for Initial Teacher licensure in the specific area of PK-8 Moderate Disabilities. Acceptance into the RTAP program and the corresponding funding for tuition and other financial incentives is subject to grant funding.
Initial Licensure Program
Successful applicants will receive a conditional acceptance. Applicants will then be directed to apply to Stonehill College's Graduate School of Education's PK-8 Moderate Disabilities licensure program. Application deadline is August 1, 2026.
Compensation/Financial Assistance
Successful applicants who are accepted into the Licensure program listed above will have their RTAP employment confirmed by the district.
Salary & Terms per the Unit D Collective Bargaining Agreement FY 27 $29.07 per hour ($29.15 as of Jan 2027), 7.25 hours paid per day, 192 paid days (including holidays) Total salary for a full year = $40,521
Tuition & Financial Assistance (Subject to Grant Funding) Tuition payments made by the district for a two-year 30 or 36 credit licensure program with Stonehill College towards a PK-8 or 5-12 Moderate Disabilities license from MA DESE Financial assistance for MA DESE licensure and MTEL fees
Position Information:
The Special Education Paraprofessional will work with the classroom teacher to provide support to students in their special education program. The paraprofessional will provide hands-on support as directed by the classroom teacher. The paraprofessional will assist with the basic academic and communication functions of students and will administer some basic life skills, including but not limited to changing and toileting.
Responsibilities include: Providing academic support to students. Providing assistance in the area of Adaptive Daily Living Skills. Assisting in the collection of data to monitor academic progress. Assisting in the creation of classroom activities and materials. Accompanying students throughout the school day including lunch, specials, and transitions. Performs other related duties, as designated by the classroom teacher, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective classroom environment for students. Provide support to students using knowledge attained through restraint training (e.g. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Safety Care). Support all classroom rituals and routines Support small group instruction Will keep written logs of attendance, meeting notes, program activities and key milestones that will get reported to the district on an ongoing basis. Will be required to fill out multiple surveys to provide feedback for reporting to MA DESE. Other relevant duties as assigned
