What You''ll Do

As a Special Education Paraprofessional at Edmentum, you'll be a meaningful presence in the lives of students with disabilities as they navigate virtual learning. This is a role for someone who shows up consistently, cares about student success, and finds genuine satisfaction in watching a student click with a concept they struggled with before. Working alongside a dedicated team of certified special education teachers, you'll help students access instruction, stay engaged, and build confidence as they work toward goals that matter for their future.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver direct academic support to students with disabilities in a virtual setting, reinforcing instructional content, guiding students through assignments, and helping them build skills aligned to their IEP goals.
  • Assist in implementing IEP accommodations and modifications, including extended time, read-aloud support, and organizational strategies, ensuring every student receives the services they are entitled to with care and consistency.
  • Monitor student participation and progress, capturing observations and data as directed, and keeping the instructional team informed with timely, relevant updates.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, content instructors, and affiliate staff, contributing to a student-centered team that communicates openly and works in sync.
  • Foster student independence and positive engagement in an online learning environment, implementing behavior support strategies and providing the encouragement students need to stay motivated and on track.

Who You Are

  • You hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with postsecondary coursework, an associate's degree, or higher preferred.
  • You meet at least one of the following qualifications: a passing score on the ParaPro Praxis, ACT WorkKeys Basic Skills Assessment or equivalent assessment, an associate's degree or higher, or two or more years of completed college coursework.
  • You have experience supporting students with disabilities in an academic setting and understand the commitment that work requires.
  • You are comfortable working within virtual learning platforms and navigating digital tools with confidence.
  • You have strong communication skills and can document student observations clearly and share updates with a team in a professional, timely way.
  • You are organized, dependable, and able to manage your time effectively while supporting multiple students in a remote environment.
  • You work well within a collaborative, virtual team and know when to ask for guidance and when to handle things independently.
  • You are genuinely committed to inclusive, student-centered practices and motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in a student's educational experience.
  • You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • A Remote First culture that values flexibility and trust.
  • A mission-driven team obsessed with improving education for all students.
  • Growth opportunities and leadership that truly invests in your development.
  • The chance to work with innovative tools and game-changing products.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work is helping shape the future of learning.
