Job Summary:
A Special Education Paraprofessional supports teachers in working with students who have special needs. They help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally by providing one-on-one or small group assistance.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the teacher with classroom activities and lesson implementation
- Provide individualized support to students based on their needs
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive environment
- Support students with daily tasks, including mobility, communication, and organization
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom setup
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional certification)
- Patience, compassion, and strong communication skills
- Ability to work well with children of varying abilities
- Basic understanding of special education practices (preferred)
