Special Education Paraprofessionals in the Oconto Falls School District are crucial in supporting the academic, behavioral, and functional success of students with disabilities across various educational settings. These dedicated professionals assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), promote student independence, and help maintain a safe and inclusive environment where all learners can thrive. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and collaborative-someone who values teamwork and is committed to making a meaningful impact in students'' lives while contributing positively to the school community.
We currently have two positions available for:
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma AND any of the following:
An Associate Degree in any area (paraeducator degrees or child/education-based degrees preferred).
At least 48 college semester credits in a field related to education
At least one year of experience in the classroom setting serving students with special educational, academic, and/or behavioral needs
If candidates have none of the above, yet a willingness to work as a part of the OFSD team, they could apply with the understanding that they would need to complete coursework and pass an assessment as directed by the district to determine qualifications.
Preference to Applicants with any/all of the following skills/experiences:
Ability to work with students with disabilities in both the special education and regular education classrooms
Experience in working with individuals with a range of disabilities
Experience working with students with various academic, behavioral, and/or medical needs
Possesses exceptional attention to detail in work assignments
Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Understand that confidentiality is a must when working with students
Willingness to supervise during recess and in the lunchroom when scheduled

Certification required at the time of hire or obtained within 90 days of hire or as soon as offered:
Special Education Paraprofessional license
CPR/First Aid certification
Training in medical-based services or other needed training for supporting a variety of children in educational settings
Terms of Employment:
Hours: 7:30 am -3:15 pm Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (Monday through Friday during the school year only - based on student need)
Salary: $16.03 - $21.00 (Based on Experience & Certification)
