Eagle River Elementary School is seeking a positive and student-centered paraprofessional to support students in our Elementary Neurodiversity Program. This individual will work closely with general and special education teachers, therapists, and other paraprofessionals to help students develop communication, self-regulation, social, and academic skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who believes in the potential of every student and is eager to learn and implement evidence-based practices that support neurodiverse learners.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support students during classroom instruction, social activities, and daily routines.
  • Assist students with communication using verbal language, visual supports, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
  • Help students develop self-regulation and coping skills through positive, proactive support strategies.
  • Implement visual schedules, structured routines, and individualized supports.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapist, paraprofessionals, and other team members.
  • Collect and share observations regarding student progress and needs.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
