Position Title: Special Education Paraprofessional

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: 6.5 hours per day; Monday through Friday. 7:45AM - 2:45PM

Location: This position is full-time and based at Mahtomedi High School.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be highly qualified. Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting preferred. Qualified candidates must enjoy working in a school setting, helping students grow to their full potential, and working with others in a collaborative environment.

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing an educational environment that will help students with disabilities in learning and fulfill their growth potential. Assists special education teachers to work with students on their academic and social behavioral skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support students with disabilities in the general education and special education setting
  • Work one-on-one, in small groups, or in a classroom setting
  • Assist staff in meeting specific academic and behavioral needs of students
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
