REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY Building Principal and/or Special Education Director

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate Degree preferred. Desire to work with all aged students. Demonstrated record of punctuality and reliable attendance. Self motivated and able to work independently.

ROLE OVERVIEW The Special Education Paraprofessional provides essential academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning needs. Working under the guidance of a lead teacher, you will implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), foster an inclusive classroom environment, and empower students to reach their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional Support: Work with students 1-on-1 or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts tailored to their specific goals. IEP Implementation: Assist in tracking progress toward IEP goals and documenting behavioral data as required by the lead teacher. Behavioral Coaching: Utilize positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to help students manage emotions and stay engaged in learning. Classroom Management: Assist in preparing modified materials, organizing the physical space, and transitioning students between activities (e.g., specials, lunch, recess). Personal Care (if applicable): Provide assistance with daily living activities, which may include mobility, feeding, or toileting, depending on the specific student population. Collaboration: Maintain open communication with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a consistent support system for the student. Other duties to be assigned
