Special Education Program Teacher

A two day New Teacher Orientation will take place on August 24th and 25th. The first day of school for teachers will be August 28th. Position Overview Maynard Public Schools is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and student-centered Special Education Teacher. The role includes working collaboratively with all members of the IEP team to ensure that students in the program progress academically, functionally, socially, and behaviorally, as well as designing and supporting meaningful, successful inclusion experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee individualized instruction aligned with students'' IEPs and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including BCBAs, speech-language pathologists, related service providers, general educators, and families to support student success.
• Design, implement, and monitor academic, behavioral, communication, social, and adaptive skill instruction using evidence-based practices.
• Collect, analyze, and utilize student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and revise programming as needed.
• Conduct or participate in educational and functional assessments and contribute to the development of IEPs, progress reports, and evaluation reports.
• Facilitate student inclusion opportunities, transition planning, and community-based learning experiences as appropriate.
• Maintain effective communication with families and school staff regarding student progress, programming, and instructional needs.
• Support district and state assessment requirements, including accommodations and alternate assessments, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities PreK-8.
• Knowledge of ABA principles, discrete trial instruction, naturalistic teaching strategies, and positive behavioral supports.
• Experience addressing behaviors related to communication and sensory regulation challenges.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and family-centered collaboration.
