Special Education School Bus Aide

Hours based on route (4-hour minimum)

Qualifications:

• Must have a positive attitude and willingness to work well with others
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experiences with physically and mentally challenged persons.
• Ability to document safety issues and incidents.
• CDL with P and S endorsements recommended, but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the boarding and de-boarding of students.
• Attend to the needs of students based on their IEP.
• Assist the driver by maintaining student discipline as approved by the Transportation Director.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with bus driver.
• Demonstrate knowledge of rules and regulations promulgated by local, state, and federal agencies.
• Be alert and exercise good judgment concerning emergencies and day-to-day operations.
• Keep accurate records and reports as required, submit in a legible condition, and turn in at the specified time.
• Conduct yourself as a professional Transportation staff member at all times.
• Secure all equipment that is required for each passenger.
• Be able to lift, store, and disassemble/assemble equipment required by the passenger.

Salary & Benefits:As per the FRESPA contract, starting rate 2025-2026 is $16.03/hourPosting Deadline:Until filled.
