Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and physical needs
  • Conduct assessments and utilize data-driven instruction to support student growth and achievement
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
  • Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet individual student needs
  • Implement evidence-based interventions, accommodations, and behavior support strategies
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, Section 504, Minnesota Department of Education requirements, and district policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4) or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Knowledge of special education regulations, IDEA compliance, IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in PreK–12 settings preferred
  • Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices
