Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and physical needs
- Conduct assessments and utilize data-driven instruction to support student growth and achievement
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Implement evidence-based interventions, accommodations, and behavior support strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Maintain compliance with IDEA, Section 504, Minnesota Department of Education requirements, and district policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4) or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Knowledge of special education regulations, IDEA compliance, IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
- Experience working with students with disabilities in PreK–12 settings preferred
- Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices
