Job Requirements.
  • EducationRequirements: Rhode Island Early Childhood Special Education teacher certification (or equivalent) and appropriate SPED education coursework/degree required for state licensure.
  • CertificationsRequirements: Rhode Island Early Childhood Special Education teaching certification (must be active/valid). Any required district/state SPED endorsements for IEP instruction.
  • ExperienceRequirements: Minimum 1 year of special education experience in school settings, including IEP development and implementation, case management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams; experience supporting students with autism, behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities.
  • OtherRequirements: Days schedule availability; demonstrated collaboration with teachers, staff, and school-based stakeholders; experience with data-driven progress monitoring and measurable student outcomes (preferred/expected); ability to align instruction to students’ IEP goals and behavioral supports; professionalism and strong communication skills; standard background check readiness (typically required for school placements); must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a W2 basis (no sponsorship required).

JobResponsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage IEPs for students with special education needs, ensuring alignment to IEP goals, accommodations, and services.
  • Provide specially designed instruction and support in a school setting for students with autism, behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities (as assigned/age-appropriate to contract needs).
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and school-based stakeholders to support student progress.
  • Support case management activities, including progress monitoring, documentation, and communication of student performance and needs.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment and apply behavior strategies and supports consistent with student plans and district expectations.
