North Greenville Elementary School is seeking a special education certified elementary level special education teacher who is eager to be part of an innovative professional learning community: Licensures preferred 810, 801 or 830
Position: North Greenville Elementary School
Position Focus: This position focuses on providing academic interventions for students. You will work within a highly functioning team of special educators to share in the services of needs for all students. Case management is currently at 7 students with academic needs.
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge Desired
- Have the ability to assimilate, collaborate, and problem solve effectively as a member of a high functioning team
- Ability to work with many different students and staff
- Has the ability to implement academic interventions and support behavioral needs
- Has specialized knowledge of Universal Design for Learning in ensuring all students have access to their learning in the general education setting
- Possess extensive knowledge of best practices around academic interventions and closing the achievement gap
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect support to special education students in out of the general education setting
- Use best practices for access; develop accommodations and modifications and ensure implementation
- Coordinate the use of assistive technology to enable learning and increase independence
- Facilitate interactions and encourage relationships between students and their typical classmates
