Special Education Teacher - Arvada, CO

Bring your passion for special education to a vibrant elementary environment supporting students with significant needs. This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference for learners in a collaborative school setting from August 2026 through early June 2027.

You’ll work closely with a dedicated team to nurture a positive, inclusive learning environment at an elementary campus. The role centers on students with significant support needs (SSN), providing specialized instruction, adaptation of curriculum, and personalized strategies to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Colorado CDE Special Education (SPED) licensure required
• Proven experience or strong interest in working with significant support needs (SSN)
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for individual student needs
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in alignment with IEPs
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students with SSN
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
• Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and facilitate IEP meetings
• Support students’ social-emotional development and promote independence
• Engage in ongoing professional development and school initiatives
• Establish a safe and welcoming classroom environment

The schedule features a four-day workweek—Tuesday through Friday, 34 hours per week from 7:30am to 4:30pm—providing consistency for students and work-life balance for you.
