
Special Education Teacher - Schools Accountable Healthcare Staffing

Location: Chicago Ridge, Illinois
Navra is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for a full-time, school-based opportunity in Illinois for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will support 4th and 5th grade students in a self-contained special education setting, with opportunities for students to participate alongside their general education peers throughout the school day.

Hours: 33.75 hours per week
Daily Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
Teacher Institute Days: August 17–18, 8:00 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
First Day of Student Attendance: August 20, with a 1:30 p.m. early dismissal
Grade Levels: 4th & 5th Grade
Classroom Setting: Self-Contained
On-Site Position: No virtual or hybrid candidates
Interview Process: Virtual interviews anticipated within 24–48 hours
The Special Education Teacher will support a self-contained 4th and 5th grade classroom. Current instructional groupings include:
Reading: 11 fifth-grade students and 6 fourth-grade students
Math: 8 fifth-grade students and 5 fourth-grade students
Most students have reading and math IEP goals
Students are mainstreamed with their general education peers for specials, lunch, recess, social studies, and science
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with student needs and state and federal requirements.
Provide differentiated instruction in reading, math, and other identified areas based on students' IEP goals.
Deliver instruction within a structured self-contained special education classroom.
Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and other members of the educational team.
Support successful student inclusion and participation in general education settings.
Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reporting.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement
Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, accommodations, and differentiated instruction
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary school teams
