    Description

    Oconto Unified School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and collaborative Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher to join our elementary school team for the upcoming school year. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and committed to fostering academic growth, independence, and social-emotional success.

    The selected candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to elementary school students receiving special education services. This role emphasizes collaboration, inclusive practices, and individualized programming to help all learners thrive.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and facilitate Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings with organization and professionalism
    • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals aligned with student needs and progress
    • Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a cross-categorical setting
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals to support inclusive practices
    • Foster positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community
    • Maintain a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student success
    • Utilize strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
    • Commit to continuous professional growth and high levels of student achievement

    Qualifications

    • Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license in Special Education
    • Cross-Categorical Special Education licensure preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to support diverse learners in inclusive elementary school settings
    • Strong collaboration, communication, and instructional skills
