JOB GOAL: To assess and provide a well-designed educational plan and instruction for students with disabilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct service to students with disabilities, consult with other staff on student and educational issues, work in inclusion and resource classrooms
Knowledgeable about accommodations and modifications.
Knowledge regarding MCAS Accommodations and Alt. MCAS Development
Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process by attending IEP meetings, work collaboratively with IEP team members, complete and prepare IEP paperwork, and deliver instruction in a meaningful and appropriate way to enable students to progress toward goals outlined in the IEP.
Complete Progress Reports.
Develop individualized lesson plans that meet criteria for specially designed instruction
Plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities
Administer appropriate educational assessments to determine eligibility for special education and to gather data for the development of the IEP
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals, and in congruency with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
Provide appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques in order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment
Collaborate with Relate Service professionals.
Communicate routinely with parents and other school personnel
Perform duties to keep classroom area neat, clean, and safe
Be able to support a remote learning environment.
Supervise support staff (paraprofessionals/tutors)
