We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Special Education Teacher who is passionate about empowering students with unique learning needs and committed to building a supportive school community. This is an opportunity to impact the lives of students through collaboration with families and educators who truly care!

Job Goal: To provide a multi level system of interventions and supports for students who have a wide range

of learning, emotional, behavioral, physical and intellectual disabilities. Will teach in a collaborative effort of

various subjects, such as reading, writing, math, life skills, and social skills instruction.

Qualifications:

  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction special education certification, number 1810 or 1801 in the elementary school setting

  • Ability to collaborate with parents, teachers, and community members in order to help students meet individual goals

  • Passion for teaching students with various challenges. (physical, intellectual, communication, and/or behavioral)

  • Must be willing to collaborate and/or act as a resource to regular education teachers

  • Training and/or experience in teaching social communication and appropriate expected behaviors

  • Must have a desire to work in a collaborative, team approach in supporting students

  • Willingness to incorporate interventions in classroom activities

  • Willingness to think creatively in instructional practices through a variety of methods to meet the individual student needs

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong planning skills

  • Experience with developing and writing IEPs

  • A desire to promote family involvement in school and community

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

  • Experience with augmentative communication devices, Unique Learning Systems, EdMark, News2You, and adaptive equipment

  • Excellent classroom management skills

  • Support the PLC process for staff

  • Willingness to support student''s functional needs such as diapering, toileting, feeding, etc.
