Cedar Grove-Belgium Elementary School is seeking a dynamic Cross Categorical Special Education teacher beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, with an interest and focus on early elementary students. The ideal candidate is someone who focuses on students' strengths and believes in their ability to grow and achieve. We desire an instructor who can incorporate positive behavior supports, differentiated instruction, solid reading instruction and the ability to adapt, collaborate, and provide instructional strategies to other staff who work with students. Experience in Functional Behavioral Assessments, development of Behavioral Intervention Plans, social skill instruction and sensory regulation is ideal. Applicants should possess a high level of knowledge and experience providing a continuum of services and working with students with various learning styles and disabilities. The successful candidate must have good organizational skills, ability to work successfully and effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Must be Wisconsin DPI certified, or eligible for certification, as a Special Education Teacher at the elementary school level.

  • Experience working with students who have a variety of learning styles and disabilities.

  • Knowledgeable about writing IEPs and facilitating IEP meetings.

  • Training in Wilson Reading is preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledgeable about interpreting behavioral and academic data and using that information to plan instruction and interventions.
