BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Principal, instruct special education students individually and in small groups in accordance with VCOE policies and procedures; develop and implement IEP goals, assess students, and coordinate programs to increase independence and functioning in society, socially, vocationally and academically.

Requirements / Qualifications

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Special Education Credential to teach students with Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe) disabilities. Appropriate certification for teaching English Language Learners. It is desired that candidates have experience working with children or adolescents with autism and training with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

All application materials must be submitted with a VCOE application as a complete package. A complete application package must include the following:

  • Credential Copy (Copy of valid California State Credential Copy ((Please attach a copy of your Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe) Special Education Credential)))
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 letters dated within the last 18 months [LETTERS MUST BE SIGNED and DATED])
  • Resume
