Job Summary
To provide directed learning experiences for students with severe cognitive disabilities and/or Autism with a need for continued development of basic living and social skills as they occur in each curricular domain and where there is the need of fostering independence with emphasis on the vocational domain and the transition process. Coordinate the activities of instructional aides in various directed learning locations, assess and effectively manage student behavior and progress, and perform related instructional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
This position will be assigned to an Extensive Support Needs classroom which may include Autism or students with extensive needs.
License or Certificate
Possession of an appropriate California Special Education Teaching Credential, i.e. Educational Specialist - Moderate Severe Disabilities Extensive Support Needs OR Specialist Instruction Severely Handicapped. Must have EL Authorization.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. Possession of a B.A. Degree supplemented by recent teaching experience including experience and/or training within the domain of the required credential.
