Job Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Frankfort, IL 60423
Pay Rate: $50.00/hr
Description:
Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026 2027 school year. This is a full-time, in-person position supporting students with significant behavioral needs in an Autism classroom (5th - 6th Grade) or Transition program. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, implement behavior intervention strategies, collaborate with educational teams and families, and foster academic, social, and emotional growth for students with diverse learning needs.
Schedule
Monday through Friday
8: 00 AM to 3: 15 PM
30-minute unpaid lunch break
30-minute paid prep period included daily
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
Implement and monitor FBAs and BIPs with fidelity
Use evidence-based behavioral strategies to support student success
Foster a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families
Track and report student progress regularly
Qualifications
Active PEL
LBS1 Endorsement
Experience working with students with behavioral challenges preferred
Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
