Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), delivering specialized instruction based on each student's unique needs, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. The Special Education Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and related service providers to implement accommodations and modifications, supports positive behavior management, utilizes evidence-based instructional practices, and creates an inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence and achievement. Additional responsibilities include administering assessments, maintaining communication with parents and guardians, and ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and other applicable special education regulations.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of differentiated instruction, behavior management strategies, special education laws and regulations, and effective instructional practices across a variety of disability categories. The ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel while managing multiple responsibilities is essential.

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution and possess a current state teaching license with the appropriate Special Education endorsement. Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting is preferred but not required. Candidates should be committed to fostering student success through individualized instruction, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
