Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve academic, social, and behavioral success through individualized instruction and targeted support.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Providing specialized instruction based on students' unique learning needs
  • Modifying curriculum and classroom materials to support student achievement
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining required documentation
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes growth and independence

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • LBS1 Endorsement required
  • Previous school-based experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering positive outcomes for all students
