Key Responsibilities

• Teach a diverse daily schedule featuring co-serve general education classes, targeted study skills instruction, and specialized ELA and/or math courses tailored to individual learning needs.

• Implement individualized education plans through adapted curriculum, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based interventions to support student progress.

• Provide targeted, skill-based instruction to help students develop essential academic, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills.

• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and service providers to ensure seamless accommodations and foster an inclusive classroom environment.

• Stay flexible and responsive to student needs, adapting instructional strategies and support methods based on IEP goals and student growth.

• Foster a positive school culture by engaging in collective responsibility for student health and safety.

• Opportunities for various coaching roles are available for candidates looking to lead outside the classroom.

Qualifications

• Valid Wisconsin Teaching License in Special Education (or eligibility).

• Strong foundational knowledge of high school special education practices, IEP development, and differentiated instruction.

• Ability to adapt core curriculum and implement evidence-based instructional strategies across diverse learning styles.

• Demonstrated success in building relationships, improving instruction, and fostering a professional culture.
