    Job Description

    A Special Education Teacher position is available for Bay View Middle School. The individual plans, implements and assesses student learning experiences. The teacher will help foster a love of learning for students and appropriately guide the learners to lead their learning. Facilitating parental involvement and building strong relationships with students is a vital part of this role. Viable candidates will be an active member of the school community, be able to create a positive and supportive classroom community, be organized and efficient, and to facilitate the district and school''s mission to develop 21st Century Learners.

    This position is located in the Harbor Program. The Harbor is a safe place for students who struggle to find success within the regular classroom setting. A successful candidate for this position will have experience and knowledge in creating and implementing individualized education plans and behavior intervention plans that focus on a student''s strengths, and allow them to find success within the school day. A willingness to collaborate with administration, colleagues and families on behalf of the student is also a must. A strong background in working with students with behavioral needs is preferred.

    This position is located at Bay View Middle School for Grades 7 and 8. Start date is August 17, 2026.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited institution. Licensure and certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in Cross-Categoral Special Education for grades 7 and 8 required (1801 or 2801). Successful completion of student teaching experience. Knowledge of current educational methodology and practices.
