REPORTS TO: Principal and Special Education Administrator

JOB GOAL: To work as a co-teacher and/or a small group academic support teacher to provide direct instruction to special education students per their IEPs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as liaison for each assigned IEP student.
  • Provide tutorial and small group instruction for IEP specified services.
  • Develop educational plans (IEPs) to meet students' needs.
  • Assist regular education teachers in the successful inclusion of IEP students in the classroom.
  • Consult with teachers, guidance and other support personnel for student goals, educational modifications; make up work, untimed tests, organizational skills, and other skills stipulated on the IEP.
  • Attend team meetings for students and provide services (including writing of new IEPs or amendments) as determined by team.
  • Complete academic testing for students on caseload.
  • Complete all paperwork (including referrals for reevaluation) within the specified time limits.
  • Act as a resource for parents, teachers, and administrators.
