Special Education Teacher in Hamden, CT

Step into an important role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher, working full-time from October through the end of the school year. Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification in Special Education
• Experience teaching at the elementary and/or middle school level preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage split caseloads effectively
• Proficiency in case management, including data collection and progress monitoring
• Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to students across both elementary and middle school settings
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate data on student progress, utilizing various assessment tools
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure holistic support for students
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based decision making
• Manage caseload responsibilities, ensuring compliance with all required documentation and timelines
