Special Education Teacher-Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Teacher ( 3-Year Signing Bonus Eligible!) (Location TBD for 2027-28 School Year)

Baird Elementary School is accepting applications for a full-time Special Education-ID teaching position. This position will be at Baird Elementary School for the 26/27 school year and then will be a "To be assigned" position for the 27/28 School Year. Baird Elementary School is proud to serve a diverse learning community of approximately 550 EC-5 students and their families. Baird students, staff, parents, and community are valued, involved, and invested in the success of our school. In addition to high quality instruction, Baird Elementary offers the following services: Math and Literacy intervention, ELL/ESL support, special education services, student services support (School Counselor, Social Worker, and School Psychologist), college tutors, parent and community volunteers, gifted and talented support, and literacy and instructional coaches in both English and Spanish.

Baird also offers two-way bilingual programs with instruction in Spanish and English every day. School goals include student improvement in both math and literacy. Knowledge of and experience with PBIS and CHAMPS allow teachers to commit to a school community with a problem solving/conflict resolution system. The staff collaborates to utilize data driven decision making to implement effective intervention, and differentiated instruction in meeting student academic, social and emotional needs. Qualifications Required:

Bachelors Degree

Wisconsin DPI special education EC-MC or MC-EA certification

Experience with behaviors and de-escalation. NVCI Training preferred. Training/experience with Calkins reading/writing units of study across all levels. Familiarity with workshop model.
