Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to support students in grades K–5 as a Resource Teacher. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality instructional services to students with diverse learning needs.
The ideal candidate is committed to collaboration, individualized instruction, and fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a resource setting
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Deliver small-group and individualized interventions
Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in IEP meetings, team planning, and professional development
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Special Education License
IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
At least 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
Strong understanding of special education best practices
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education Teaching Certification
Experience in a K–5 resource classroom setting
Additional Requirements
CPR certification (if applicable)
TB screening / health certification (per state regulations)
Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation
Local Pay Rate: $50/hour
Travel Pay Package:
Taxable: $15.15/hour
Meals & Incidentals: $300/week
Housing: $300/week
