Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – K–1 Cross-CategoricalLocation: Lake Villa, Illinois Position OverviewNavra is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for a full-time, school-based opportunity supporting Kindergarten and 1st grade students during the 2026–2027 school year. This position will work within a cross-categorical special education classroom, providing individualized and differentiated instruction to students with a variety of learning needs. ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) based on each student's unique educational needs. Provide differentiated and specially designed instruction to Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to support a range of learning abilities and needs. Monitor student progress, maintain appropriate data, and adjust instruction based on student performance. Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and other members of the educational team. Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, progress reporting, and other special education processes while maintaining required documentation.
QualificationsValid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement Knowledge of special education practices, IEP implementation, accommodations, and differentiated instruction Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary school teams Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred New graduates are encouraged to apply
