The Muskego-Norway School District is seeking a highly dedicated, motivated, full-time educator for a Special Education Teacher (Learning Strategist) position at Lake Denoon Middle School for the 2026-27 school year.

The ideal candidate will utilize student learning results to plan and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs and interests of adolescent learners. In addition to being focused on student achievement data, candidates will possess the ability to develop student-teacher relationships, establish rapport with parents, and collaborate effectively with colleagues in a professional learning community.
Candidates must understand the developmental stages of widely divergent children and implement developmentally responsive programming; must be skilled at proactively managing student behavior by fostering positive relationships based on mutual respect and by intervening as necessary to assist students toward the acquisition of self-discipline and pro-social interaction skills.
Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with current laws, rules, and regulations related to special education: procedures and practices used to protect the rights of students with disabilities; current trends and issues in the field of special education as it applies to daily service delivery; and the concept of the least restrictive environment.
Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with current assessment, identification, and evaluation tools and practices, including specialized educational terminology used for the assessment of social skills, academics, emotional and behavioral functioning, and transitional needs.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of instructional content and practices for learners, including early intervention strategies; use of technology for students with disabilities; plan, develop, and implement IEPs; accommodate, modify, and evaluate curricular materials; and design functional classrooms with consistent rules and routines leading to self-management and self-control strategies.
