Special Education Teacher – School-Based Contract Position

Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success. You will play a key role in developing and implementing educational programs that promote independence, confidence, and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • LBS1 Endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to helping students achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential
