As a 7th Grade Special Education Teacher, your days will include: Provide specialized instruction to 7th-grade students within an instructional-level classroom. Deliver targeted Reading and ELA instruction based on students’ individual learning needs and IEP goals. Adapt and differentiate curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to support diverse learners. Implement accommodations and modifications outlined within students’ IEPs. Monitor student progress and use data to adjust instruction and interventions. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to promote student success. Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure compliance with IEP and special education requirements.
Job DetailsPosition: Contract through the end of the school year Start Date: ASAP Hours: Approximately 12 hours per week Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m. Grade Level: 7th Grade Classroom: Instructional-level Special Education classroom Primary Focus: Instructional Reading/ELA in the afternoon Interview: Virtual Work Setting: On-site Potential Full-Time Opportunity: A full-time schedule may be available for a strong LBS1 candidate, with the possibility of serving as a floating substitute during the morning and providing Instructional Reading/ELA support in the afternoon.
Successful Candidates PossessAn active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) LBS1 endorsement Knowledge of IEP implementation, accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor New graduates are welcome to apply
