Position Title: Middle School 7-8 Special Education Teacher 1.0 FTE - Long Term Substitute through the End of School Year

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for Special Education (165 or 065). Degree from an accredited college or university in Spanish.

Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee

Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Work Year Position starts on or about March 10, 2026, and ends on June 16, 2026. In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Responsibilities:

The Special Education Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:

• Provides comprehensive case management planning and providing instruction directly to students requiring social emotional and behavioral support. • Provides training support and guidance to a team of para educators, co-teaches, communicates and collaborates with teachers and families. • Implements IEP and leads PPT processes • Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
