Special Education Teacher

Job Posting: Special Education Teacher – Autism (AU) / Multi‑Categorical


Position: Full-Time
Location: Martinsburg, WV


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve students in Autism (AU) and Multi‑Categorical programs at the middle school level for our school site in Martinsburg, WV. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, foster inclusion, and collaborate with families and staff to support student success.


Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and functional skills
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
• Create a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Valid West Virginia teaching certification in Special Education (required)---(AU/Multi‑Categorical endorsement preferred)
• Experience working with students with autism and multiple disabilities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
