Summary & Purpose
Community High School District 218 is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to serve in a temporary maternity leave position. This educator will support students with disabilities through high-quality instruction, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the implementation of individualized education plans. The ideal candidate will be flexible, collaborative, and committed to maintaining continuity of services and instruction during the leave period. This position may include supporting co-taught, resource, or self-contained programming depending on student and departmental needs.

Employees in this role are subject to all relevant Illinois and federal laws governing the education and employment of individuals with disabilities, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and applicable Illinois Administrative Code. For certified staff, evaluation and employment practices comply with the Illinois Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA). All mandated training requirements, including CPDUs for license renewal, must be completed as directed.
