Math Special Education Self-Contained Teacher

Location: Washington, D.C.
Pay Rate: $40 and up based on experience

As a K-12 School-Based Math Special Education Self-Contained Teacher in Washington, D.C., your Days Will Include:

  • Deliver specialized math instruction to students in a self-contained special education classroom.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student success.

  • Differentiate instruction based on each student's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior management techniques to foster student growth.

  • Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, and families.

  • Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, state, and district regulations.

  • Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and confidence.

Job Details

  • Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting

  • Hours: Full-time (Monday Friday)

  • Location: Washington, D.C.

  • Caseload: Self-Contained Special Education Math Classroom

Successful Candidates Possess

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education (required)

  • DC license not required

  • Experience teaching students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of math instruction, IEP development, and behavior management strategies

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
