We are seeking a licensed Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for an elementary school setting in the McHenry, IL area. This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students with autism in a collaborative and structured learning environment.
Elementary school setting (3rd grade classroom)
Self-contained autism classroom
Current caseload of approximately 9 students
Supported by 3 dedicated paraprofessionals
Strong collaboration with related service providers
34 hours per week
Daily schedule: 7:55 AM – 3:15 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Full school year contract: August 17, 2026 – May 26, 2027
Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals
Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to support student success
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families and school staff
Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to meet diverse student needs
Foster academic, social-emotional, communication, and functional skill development
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement required
New graduates are encouraged to apply with appropriate licensure
Ability to work onsite (virtual/hybrid candidates are not being considered)
