Position Overview
Birch Agency is seeking a passionate and dedicated K-5 Special Education Teacher for an exciting school-based opportunity in Miami, Florida.

This position offers the opportunity to work with elementary students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, providing individualized instruction and academic support to help students reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals.

  • Deliver differentiated instruction based on each student's academic, developmental, and behavioral needs.

  • Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom accommodations to support student success.

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress reports.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, related service providers, and families.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

  • Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques.

  • Foster a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Student Education, or a related field required.

  • Active Florida Special Education/ESE Teaching Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.

  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.

  • Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education compliance.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to helping students achieve academic and personal success.
