The Palmyra-Eagle Area School District is seeking a full time Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will deliver individualized instruction to students with a wide range of abilities based upon academic and behavioral data.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following abilities to:
Analyze assessment results and use data to drive instruction
Implement special education programming and services for adolescents (grades 6-8) with disabilities who are eligible for special education services
Provide consultation services to parents and families of children with disabilities as well as working with staff in developing inclusive programming options.
Serve as part of an IEP team conducting special education eligibility evaluations, lead IEP development and Least Restrictive Environment placement determinations and complete associated paperwork and legal documentation while adhering to all legal guidelines and timelines.
Design and implement positive behavior support and intervention techniques and plans.
Use experience and interest in co-teaching models to facilitate inclusive educational strategies.
Collaborate and communicate with middle and high school special education staff on individual student needs
Utilize a forward thinking and collaborative approach to problem-solving and meeting the diverse needs of learners.
Ensure confidentiality of information related to students that adhere to all applicable FERPA and HIPPA laws.
Adhere to the highest professional ethical standards.
