Job Summary

Job Summary

The Special Education Teacher provides individualized education programs to students. The teacher is responsible for developing, implementing, and relating the daily activities of the students to the core curriculum. Through continuous collaboration with a variety of individuals and groups, including parents, district and county personnel, and various agencies, the Teacher provides for the academic, social and emotional growth of each student by using a variety of instructional strategies. The Teacher continually assesses students' progress to maximize their full potential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service to students with moderate to severe or extensive support needs or documentation proving qualifications to obtain the appropriate authorization;

NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION • Completed Ed-Join online application (all fields must be filled in); • Current resume; • Copy of valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service to students with moderate to severe or extensive support needs or documentation demonstrating ability to obtain the appropriate authorization; • Minimum of one (1) current letter of reference (dated and signed within three (3) years). Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and provide all necessary materials online prior to the stated deadline to qualify as a candidate. A copy of a valid California Driver's License is required prior to start of employment.
