Special Education Teacher
Position: Full-Time
Location: New Haven, CT
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 2027
We are seeking a Certified Special Education Teacher in New Haven, CT to provide specialized instruction and support while collaborating with educators to help students with diverse learning needs succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and school personnel.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in students’ IEPs.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and other members of the educational team.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in a school setting.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies.
- Commitment to supporting student growth, inclusion, and academic success.
