Special Education Teacher

Job Position: Special Education Teacher (FMLA)

Dates: 8/10/26 - 9/30/26

Location: Oak Lawn, IL 60453

Pay Rate: $50.00/hr



Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026 2027 School Year. This is a temporary FMLA position covering English 3 courses in a co-taught and self-contained instructional settings. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, implement behavior intervention strategies, collaborate with educational teams and families, and foster academic, social, and emotional growth for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities

• 
  Provide individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
  
• 
  Implement and monitor FBAs and BIPs with fidelity
  
• 
  Use evidence-based behavioral strategies to support student success
  
• 
  Foster a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
  
• 
  Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families
  
• 
  Track and report student progress regularly
  

Qualifications

• 
  Active PEL
  
• 
  LBS1 Endorsement
  
• 
  Experience working with students with behavioral challenges preferred
  
• 
  Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
  
• 
  Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
